lyxven asked: I want to know how does the inspection procedure occurs when a textile industry receives rolls of fabrics. How do they inspect it for defects? Do they unroll them manually? (can it be done this way? if so how many rolls do they usually unroll)

jubliekrimlin asked: I want to start a hobby of clothes making. I want to learn how to sew and I want to make simple gowns like this one

I was wondering what are some of the cheapest fabrics I can use to start out with to learn how to sew and to practice on. I don’t want to start out on expensive fabrics like silk.
How much do they normally cost per yard?
those cheap fabrics I mean

Carrie-Lee H asked: They also mention flannel is good, but I like all the patterns that come in 100% cotton. Can I use 100% cotton? Like regular quilting fabrics?

jerseykitty asked: I am in the process of restoring an old boat in gold. I am a do-it-yourselfer and have been trying to look for a source for wholesale boat fabric & vinyl. My local sources have such a high mark up on especially seeing as how they aren’t getting to do the work. (heck they are so booked none could even get me in until the end of the summer anyway). Any ideas I’ve tried Google & EBay but haven’t had much luck.
